Understanding local and global forces affecting the commonwealth’s mining, oil, and natural gas industries is crucial to making informed business and workforce decisions. Attendees will receive sector-specific labor market information; learn how to receive and leverage local, state, and federal resources; and foster partnerships with local and state employment services networks that can provide recruiting, retention, training, and outplacement help.
Scheduled speakers include: Mr. Dan Weaver, PIOGA Public Outreach Director and Mr. Bud Shuffstall Esq., Senior Vice President Northwest Savings Bank and Senior Oil, Gas, and Mineral Officer will speak on energy-industry futures; Ms. Beverly Rapp, Department of Labor & Industry Rapid Response Coordination Services will discuss Commonwealth employment and outplacement services; and Mr. Bob Value, SEWN Deputy Director will talk about layoff aversion and reemployment strategies.
